JDD Consulting is concluding a six-month study for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds regarding the sustainable development of the flagship Rainham Marshes wildlife reserve. Rainham Marshes, in the Thames Gateway, was reclaimed from a historic MOD shooting range and is now home to a large water vole population and many species of rare birds.

Close to the M25 motorway and thirty minutes by train from central London, the reserve is well placed to fulfil the RSPB’s ambitions to bring urban visitors closer to nature. JDD has been engaged to produce a ten-year business plan, to include high-quality interpretation of wildlife, the improvement of visitor facilities and a significant increase visitor numbers, in particular among the local communities.
